Itinerary
Arrive in Leh by morning flight. Our representative will meet you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is reserved for acclimatization to the high altitude of 11,500 ft (3,500 meters).
Overnight stay: Leh
After a relaxed breakfast, explore some of the region’s most iconic sites:
- Shey Palace – Once the summer residence of Ladakhi kings.
- Thiksey Monastery – Known for its stunning hilltop location and grand statue of Maitreya Buddha.
- Hemis Monastery – One of the largest and most powerful monasteries in Ladakh.
- Stok Palace Museum – Home to royal artifacts, costumes, and thangkas.
Overnight stay: Leh
Embark on a full-day excursion to the breathtaking Pangong Lake, located on the Indo-China border (approx. 300 km round trip).
- Drive via Chang La Pass (altitude: 17,370 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world.
- Explore the vivid blue lake surrounded by stark mountains.
- Return to Leh by evening.
Overnight stay: Leh
After breakfast, drive west to visit the ancient Alchi Monastery, dating back to the 11th century and renowned for its Indo-Tibetan art.
On your return to Leh, visit:
- Sangam – Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.
- Magnetic Hill – A gravity-defying phenomenon.
- Gurudwara Pathar Sahib – A sacred Sikh shrine.
- Kali Mata Temple (Spituk Monastery)
- Hall of Fame – A museum honoring Indian soldiers.
Overnight stay: Leh
In the morning, drive to Khardung-La Pass (alt: 18,380 ft), the highest motorable road in the world as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Enjoy panoramic views of the Ladakh range.
Return to Leh by afternoon. The rest of the day is free to explore Leh's local markets and shop for traditional crafts, pashmina shawls, and souvenirs.
