Itinerary
Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. Our representative will receive and assist with your hotel check-in. Spend the day resting to acclimatize to the high altitude. Later, take a leisurely walk around the Leh Market and explore Tibetan handicrafts, Pashmina shawls, and local jewelry.
Overnight Stay: Leh
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day tour of Sham Valley:
- Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
- Magnetic Hill – a gravity-defying phenomenon
- Confluence of the Zanskar and Indus Rivers
- Alchi Monastery – one of the oldest in Ladakh
- Hall of Fame Museum – a tribute to the Indian Army
Return to Leh by evening.
Overnight Stay: Leh
Drive through the world’s highest motorable road, Khardung La (18,380 ft). After capturing panoramic views, descend into the enchanting Nubra Valley.
Visit:
- Diskit Monastery – home to a giant Buddha statue
- Hunder Sand Dunes – enjoy a Bactrian camel ride
- Optional: Panamik Hot Springs (with permit)
Overnight Stay: Nubra Valley
Take a scenic drive to Turtuk, one of India’s northernmost villages, located near the Indo-Pak border. Interact with the Balti community, visit the local monastery, Baltic Museum, and Turtuk Waterfall.
Return to Nubra in the evening.
Overnight Stay: Nubra Valley
Depart for the stunning Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok River route. Witness ever-changing hues of the lake’s pristine blue waters set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains.
Spend the evening soaking in the peaceful vibe of Pangong.
Overnight Stay: Pangong Lake (Campsite)
After breakfast by the lake, begin your journey back to Leh via Chang La Pass.
En route, visit:
- Thiksey Monastery – known for its resemblance to Potala Palace
- Druk Padma Karpo School (Rancho’s School) – featured in 3 Idiots
