Upon arrival at Leh Airport, our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Enjoy lunch at the hotel and take the rest of the day to acclimatize to the high altitude of 3,500 meters.
Overnight stay: Leh
After an early breakfast, set out on a full-day tour of some of Ladakh’s most iconic monasteries:
- Shey Palace – Once the summer retreat of Ladakhi kings, it houses a 36-ft-high statue of Buddha made of copper and covered in gold.
- Thiksey Monastery – A 12-storey complex located on a hilltop, offering panoramic views and spiritual ambiance.
- Hemis Monastery – The largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, known for its vibrant annual festivals.
Return to Leh by evening.
Meals & Overnight stay: Leh
After breakfast, visit:
- Stok Palace & Museum – Home to an impressive collection of royal artifacts, thangkas, and more.
- Leh Palace – A striking 16th-century structure resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa.
- Shanti Stupa – A white-domed Buddhist monument offering serene views over Leh.
Spend the afternoon exploring Leh’s vibrant markets and bazaars, where you can interact with locals and shop for traditional jewelry, crafts, and souvenirs.
Dinner & Overnight stay: Leh
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Khardongla Pass – the highest motorable road in the world at 5,600 meters (as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records).
Soak in the majestic views of the snow-covered peaks before returning to Leh. Spend the afternoon at leisure or exploring the market.
Overnight stay: Leh
Today, head west of Leh for a visit to Alchi Monastery, one of the oldest and most unique monastic complexes in Ladakh, dating back to the 11th century.
Built by the renowned translator Rinchen Zangpo, Alchi is known for its ancient wall paintings with distinct Indian influences. Explore temples like Lotsa Lhakhang, Jamyang Lhakhang, and Sumtsag Lhakhang.
Return to Leh by evening.
